The Liova project created at the Joliot-Curie high school in Rennes, when two passionate students, Simon Cénet and Evan Dessables, conceived a solution for reusing still-functional smartphone batteries and transforming them into eco-friendly power banks instead of discarding them. The idea is to give these cells a second life by integrating them into a low-cost power bank, while simultaneously promoting the circular economy and reducing electronic waste.
The project has been successfully presented in scientific innovation programs for young people, notably the Samsung Solve for Tomorrow competition, where Liova reached the European finals and made a splash among other student innovations. It was selected as one of the winning European projects alongside teams from other countries, highlighting its environmental impact and technological creativity.
